interesting question, man theres alot we gamers want in consoles me personally would love not having to lag when you play online but thats peoples fault not the consoles (due to poor reception) im pretty sure there probably wouldnt be another console because the three major consoles took over, what i think we’ll probably see is better improvements on the 360, ps3, and wii.
but i have heard rumors that they are making a xbox 720?? i dont know but see like i said “improvements”
but hey it would be great to see what a unknown consoles can provide to the table of gaming we’ll just have to wait and see
I would like to see sony’s sales increase, I cant understand why it is doing so bad considering it is by far the best current system. However I think the future lies with EA, theyve been buying all the game companies over the last few years and becoming a giant in the industry. Rumor has it that for the next generation they are planning to release a system of their own, which in my opinion, will sink sony, microsoft, and nintendo as their wont be any companies left to make games for their next gen consoles. Hostile takeover? I **** to see it happen, I **** EA, but I fear thats our future, one console with no competition, which equals poor quality because they dont have to care because there wont be anything else.
Personally, I don’t think we’ll see anything as dramatic as we did old-gen and this-gen.. While there will most likely be new consoles released sometime in ‘10 or ‘11 (Google the terms “XBox Phoenix” and/or “Wii 2″ and you’ll see what I’m talking about), I think they’re just going to be improvements on what we already have..
I mean, how can you improve on a console that already displays in 1080p resolution? How many more buttons and motion-sensing capabilities can you shoe-horn into a controller that fits in a player’s hands?
I think we’ll mainly see performance improvements.. Quieter, slimmer, cooler-running consoles.. Maybe solid-state hard-drives.. Microsoft may finally go blu-ray.. Small things like that..
Yeah, I say instead of looking at the consoles for bigger and better things, it’s time we turn our eyes on the games themselves.. In the coming years, it’ll be up to game developers to finally show us what these babies can really do.. o_O
