I found my old nintendo 64 and I’m in the mood for some old school gaming but when I put a game in all I can get is a brown screen, what do I do? Oh I tried blowing in the game and the system and its not working.

Blow into the cartridge slot, and use a qtip to wipe clean around the metal parts to dilodge any other dirt. Blow into and clean all vent areas, check the small compartment in front of the cartridge slot to make sure a ram pack is inserted (the system won’t run if that compartment is empty), check all your connections for dust and check your controller cords for breaks or holes that need to be taped. Clean around the power button, then try a few different games. You may need to push hard on the power button or do a really slow or fast motion several times to get it to work.
If all that fails, its broken. If you like, you can see if Nintendo will take it for service, but i recommend just getting a Wii and downloading the games you want from the virtual console. might take saving up some money for that though.
When you blow in the game you have to put it in very fast and turn it on quickly. If that still doesn’t work then you might need to get a bottle of compressed air then blow that in it. It’s the same thing as blowing but it will get all of the dust out.
Go to GameXcharge they will fix your 64 if there is not one
were you live at buy a new one for 14 dollars there really cheap now if you cant find one go to war-mart in get dust cleaner it a spray that should work!
